A SAMPLE OF SOME TESTIMONIALS FROM THE PREVIOUS SEASONS |
| John Thanks again for a great extension of our hockey season. Derek was a member of the 96 team this spring and learned a ton from Kevin and the other coaches. The opportunity to play against such strong competition in Canada was a very good experience for him as well and he made a lot of new friendships that will carry over to his travel team as he plays against most of his Prospects teammates in winter. Thank you again Bill Andrews ************* Dear John and Diane: At the end of each hockey endeavor I spend a little time and reflect on the experience and encapsulate what Pete and I have learned about hockey and it's influence on our life. Going into this season's Prospect program we knew that Peter needed more experience in utilizing his skills in a high tempo game. He needed to become comfortable in this situation so that he could "let loose" with his skills to generate offensive and defensive plays in the AAA arena. While acknowledging that development is an ongoing processs, the Prospects program took him yet one more step up that ladder this year. Your high standards in all aspects of the game are invigorating to our son. He so admires your integrity and standards of hard work and true hockey spirit. Sports growth is so multifactoral. It includes a committment to skills development, endurance training and psychological strengthening to play and endure well in the game. In all of these areas you have greatly assisted our son. Your personal acknowledgement of Peter's progress means so much and only motivates him further. Your critiques are taken whole-heartedly and we see them as the valuable follow up to your positive words. I can tell you that whatever level Peter achieves in his hockey pursuit, he owes you his gratitude. You have been a great role model in and out of the sport. Please also thank Instructors Brian Hannon and John Christiano for their time and dedication. Their clinic days are definite highlights within the program. I should also tell you that Pete and I want to acknowledge Luke's awesome progress this year. As Pete says, "he's got such a great quick release in his wrist shot" and "really moves the puck effectively". He is an appropriately gritty player. I really enjoyed watching his game this weekend. We hope he is well. Give a call if Luke wants to play a little pick-up over the summer. Thanks for the nice letter. My part was so small. I appreciate the countless hours that Diane puts into the program. Your part requires equal committment and perseverence to make this program a success. You have always made me feel comfortable and offered support when I may have become frustrated. Another time consuming hockey phone call! I will not forget the first time i spoke with John inquiring into the program. His web statements made me want to pursue "these program coaches". You said to me, "We're always looking for that diamond in the rough". One word of advice that i have is: follow your gut and keep that attitude. There are those kids out there who only need a insightful look and some opportunity. Thank you for another great experience. Most Sincerely, Jim & Kyle Schwan ********************* Hi John, I wanted to personally thank you, your wife, and your whole coaching staff for allowing our family (Brandon-94 & Nico-95) to be part of the Prospect family this spring. We have all truly enjoyed all aspects of the organization. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication that each and every one of you put into these kids. It's amazing. My kids learned alot on and off the ice and they will really miss everyone. Dennis and I will enjoy watching our kids use the skills that they have learned to become better mental and physical players. Maybe it will help their team beat some of those Buffalo teams!:) Take care and enjoy your summer. We hope to see you all in and out of the rinks during the new season. Good luck and many thanks again! Dennis, Nicole, Brandon and Nico Gonzales ************************************************ John, Thanks for a great session. It was a great experience for Thomas and really focused on his fundamental skills. We look forward to next year. Great job and Thanks again, George Tysowsky ******************** John, Sorry, Ryan Wheeler could not be at the Skill's competition , he got hit with a pitch earlier that day that cut up his hand pretty good. Both Ryan and I thank you for the experience. Ryan enjoyed it very much. Now he wondering what he's going to do for the rest of the summer. Thank You, Tom Wheeler *************** Good morning John, My name is Eric Lanham and my son Brett plays for the 91 Prospects team. My question has to do with the Complete Player Camp that you are offering. The brochure states that the camp is two weeks long (to assist in making permanent changes / impressions) but I'd like to know if it is still acceptable to attend just one of the two weeks? I can see that the weeks are broken out separately for both schedules and pricing but would like to make sure before we proceed with registration. We would love to attend both weeks but have a conflicting camp (soccer at U of R) during one of the weeks. Comment-wise, I was at the practice last evening and was able to watch from the upstairs observation area a majority of the drills you were running . I really liked the way that you, Rick, and the other coaches kept the boys moving, and liked the pace of the drills. My son was pretty spent early in the practice but it was great to see him continuing to battle and skate as hard as he could. From my vantage point, it wasn't always pretty but he (and many other boys) just kept working. This in and of itself if a tribute to your organization, it would have been easy to stay home on a sunny Sunday evening, and it would have been just as easy to "dog it" in the drills, but the majority of the boys didn't take the easy way out. John, my son is a very hard worker in both games and practices. At a playing weight of ~85lbs he has to be a "worker" in order to compete (he plays Travel soccer, house / tourney baseball, roller hockey, and golf in addition to travel hockey). He is really enjoying the Prospects experience, and I take it as a great sign that he looks forward to every session. Thanks for putting together such a great program. Regards, Eric R. Lanham, Business Development Manager - Hosting Western New York Computing Systems ********************************************* Hi Ken, Just wanted to thank you for letting Evan be a part of the prospects team. He really enjoyed both the competition the learning, and meeting a bunch of new friends. It was important for him to do that. It was enjoyable for us as parents as well. Have a great summer. Hopefully we will see you around the rinks. Tom Stotz *********** Ken, We would just like to thank you for such a wonderful season. We really feel your clinics will improve Chads play this coming Fall. We have a great season, thanks again for everything, you did a great job. Lisa & Jeff Kujawa ********************* John, My son Joey DiLuca had a great time in the program and looks forward to doing it again next year. We came twice a week from Jamestown which is an 1 1/2 drive and he loved it. Please keep me posted during the winter about next years tryouts so we do not miss it. I believe he will be a better player during the winter because of Buffalo Prospects. Thanks. ******** Hi John, Our family realized the greatest benefit from being a part of the program. Ty really enjoyed himself, he met some great kids that shared his love of hockey, and he is really proud to have been a part of the Buffalo Prospects. That made the two hour trip up and back twice a week well worth it. Thank you, Terri Borro ************ John and Kevin, It was an unexpected privilege to have Dustin be a member of the Battle of Buffalo 90's team. Knowing that the core group were the defending Champions, there was an added dose of peer and parental pressure to succeed. It is with great appreciation that I as a parent listen to Dustin reflect and analyze his own play after these tournaments. This is a coaching staff that has a player thinking and playing, before, during and after each game. He has also met some great young men and looks forward to the times he is one of their team mates. Dustin's compliments to the other Prospects players demonstrates to me the collegial atmosphere that is encouraged and developed in your program. He is in an environment where he feels safe enough to address his areas of weakness as a player, but not feel inadequate as he measures himself against the talent that surrounds him. Your program provides young men the opportunity to grow, socially, emotionally and developmentally. An extra note of thanks to Diane for allowing him to participate as an off ice official and work the clock. We have found that Dustin's work as a ref, score keeper, etc. gives him an additional view of the game and an even greater perspective as a player. Judi DiTallo ************** Dear Coaches, Thanks for giving me the chance to play on Prospects again this year. I had lots of fun. If you had a winter team I would play on it. I liked Prospects even more this year than last year because you are teaching us harder shooting and skating techniques. You are also pushing us harder. I think 3 on 3's are better than last year. I like skating for 10 minutes in the beginning of 3 on 3's because it loosens my legs and also warms me up. I like how you have us do 4 on 4's after we skate when we're done with 3 on 3's.
